Animals, just like people, have much better recover from surgery with effective post-operative pain medications. We use injectable pain medications as part of the anesthetic protocol and in the immediate postoperative period. When your pet comes home we often send medications (both eye drops and tablets) to reduce discomfort in the first few days after surgery.
